The Rosethorn Vampyre Coven
Charter Document
Through the darkness of night and the rustling of the trees you hear the Ravens call, shouting wisdom through the aether from their journeys through the many realms. The Ravens over the aeons have lent their insights to many spiritual currents. From deep within the Raven’s plumage and the petals of the sanguine rose, we have sprung forth and cultivated the Rosethorn Vampyre Current. The Rosethorn Witchblood of the Coven’s Bloodline runs through our veins, connecting us to each other, calling out to one another. For those it has touched, it has led you here. Welcome.

Coven Overview
The Rosethorn Coven is a group put together by and for empowered Vampyre Witches. We are real vampyres, practitioners of vampyric witchcraft, and responsible yet unfettering purveyors of vampiric lifestyle. We are down to Earth, pragmatic, passionate learners and researchers. Yet, we are unafraid to immerse in the decadent splendors of a lifestyle that not only compliments, but accentuates or Vampyric nature.
Members of The Rosethorn Coven practice Vampyric Witchcraft, aka Vampyrecraft, an inherently Pagan practice that is pieced together by our Coven’s founders to gift a structured learning opportunity to Vampyre Witches and a paradigm to explore to help one discover and then enhance their own natural gifts.
The Rosethorn Vampyre Coven focuses on community building for like-minded individuals and those seeking knowledge and/or offering assistance. We have come together to form a community based on mutual respect and support.
Our Mission
The Rosethorn Vampyre Coven is dedicated to cultivating a dynamic yet practical atmosphere where the realms of witchcraft and vampyrism intertwine harmoniously. We focus on teaching practical vampyric expression, vampyre energy work & witchcraft, and responsible & risk aware vampyric indulgence. We are also fostering safe spaces to explore vampyre culture, VC history, and VC sociology.
The Rosethorn Coven exists to foster a dynamic community and support network for responsible and discerning vampyric individuals and nightside organizations. This Iis our attempt to provide a safe haven for the practical real vampyre who shares our goals, beliefs, and values. Away from both the social stigma placed upon us by outsiders and the unhinged bullshit we face from within the walls of our own communities.
Our Vision
As a Coven, we seek to lay the foundations for a useful flexible set of skills that can meet both the practical and esoteric needs of a spiritual vampyre. As experienced members of the Vampyre Community, we see how much of the functional structure of the community that once existed has been lost due to the rapid fluctuation of community dynamics and the evolution of technology. We recognize the importance of sharing diverse tool sets for vampyres to use and build off of. Through a mixture of our own original beliefs alongside adaptations of existing vampyric and pagan systems, we are introducing our thoughts to you to help you build your own skills toolset to help you flourish as a vampyre witch.
The Rosethorn Coven’s Statement of Purpose
The Rosethorn Coven exists to foster a dynamic community and support network for responsible and discerning vampyric individuals and nightside organizations.
Our purposes are to:
- Live in a manner which honors our vampyric selves and the vampyre current, following the ethics of our Covenant.
- Explore and practice Vampyrecraft, through the lens of the Pagan Vampyre Witch.
- Build, strengthen, and defend individuals, organizations, and publications within the greater VC of good merit and standing by increasing communication, understanding, and support amongst discerning vampyres; as well as promoting cohesive vampyre culture.
- Hold rituals on our Sabbats, Esbats and special occasions whenever possible in order to celebrate the ebbs and flows of The Vampyre Current.
- Teach Vampyric tradition and technique to help grounded & practical vampyres exude vampyric excellence.
- Support, encourage, and aid individuals and organizations in their desires or efforts to disseminate factual and/or practical/pragmatic information (or fight misinformation) regarding the vampyre community and subculture.
Our Ideals
Our Philosophy
The Rosethorn Coven’s Philosophy starts with our Covenant. The Covenant of The Rosethorn Coven is a Pact that we expect all of our members and guests to uphold in our midst.
The Pact includes: “We swear to inspire courage, wisdom, integrity, comradery, and evolution amongst our Coven and the greater vampyre community through our word and deed.”
Our initiated members are held to this Covenant to the highest regard. As you get further into the Coven, you’ll explore what these principles mean in a deeper capacity. But for now, please read The Rosethorn Coven’s Covenant here.
The Rosethorn Coven is fundamentally a place for Vampyric Witches and/or those who view their vampyrism through the lens of a Pagan and/or practitioner of witchcraft.
At our core, we are a group of vampyres who came together because they wanted a higher quality vampyre community experience for Vampyric Witches who are in touch with reality and seek a higher quality environment to explore their craft in.
Therefore, as a Coven we are a group whose membership is predicated on expectations of involvement, effort, and immersion in our coven programming.
The Rosethorn Vampyre Coven offers a series of events, classes & trainings that include exercises of meditation, ritual, and other technique & study that come together to enhance and inform your natural abilities. There is no replacement for practice. “You have to do the work” isn’t gatekeeping, it’s reality. What you put into your work with us is what you’ll get out of it.
Where you see evil, speak out against it
and bring your enemies no peace
– Hávamál 127
Despite not being a Heathen organization, we stand by the message of Declaration 127
Coven Access
How open are the doors to the coven?
We sit neatly between “education for all vampyres” and “we are openly elitist and gatekeep a bunch of things”. As a very publicly visible Vampyre Community organization, we offer a smorgasbord of free and openly available resources as we feel it is everyone’s job to keep the community and culture alive by sharing resources and educational materials if they want the VC to still be there in the future.
However, we also recognize that we don’t cater to all types of vampyres, we only discuss styles of vampyrism that are relevant to us (us being the Coven and/or its contributors), and we do not accept everyone into our spaces. We are staunchly 18+, and to be considered for initiation you must be 21+.

How to become a member
To join our Coven, you must first show up and be interactive in our Outer Coven. Our Outer Coven is a semi-public Facebook Group coupled with a FB Community Group Chat that allows us to get to know you before we invite you into our private sanctuary.
Outer Coven – Join our Facebook Group! or send Madame Corvidae an email – Our Outer Coven is open to anyone who matches the energy of the Coven. We’re not for everyone, and we’re open about that fact. We litter the words “discerning” and “practical” all over this page (and website) for a reason. We’re Vampyres & magical practitioners with a down to Earth demeanor about what we’re doing. We keep a specific demeanor and energy about us and we tailor our membership accordingly.
Membership Agreements
When you become a member of the Coven, you agree to the following things.
Continuous Effort
You get out what you put in. This path is one that will require regular time and effort from you on an extended basis. To be a Student of the Coven means to have real classwork, including real homework, and practice requirements. We will never ask for anything outlandish, but you will need to spend time putting in work to be successful through our courses.
Materials Requirements
You will have to acquire some tools for your work with our Coven. At first, we suggest you have a plain spiral notebook or 3 ring binder to take notes in and hold printouts. To be a Student of the Coven, you will be required to procure some altar tools in the future, but we encourage low cost and thrifted options when available.
Coven Communication
Facebook & Discord are our main sources of communication. We have dedicated Facebook Group & Group chats for active students and citizens of the Coven, our Website has an internal messaging system, etc. As a member of the Coven, you pledge to remain active in these spaces.
Community Engagement
Students, Citizens, & Members of the Coven will be expected to check into our social spaces at least once a week to maintain their “active” status with us. Going above and beyond our engagement requirements and stepping up for the greater community will help you become the community leaders of tomorrow.
Student Fees & Membership Dues
Coven dues are expected of all dedicated Inner Coven Students & Members – They come in 2 forms:
Student Fees & Membership Dues.
- Student Fees are the cost for students actively enrolled in our coursework. This comes in the form of course tuition.
- Membership dues are the cost for maintaining active membership with our Coven outside of active Course semesters.
- (If you’re an active student, you don’t have Membership dues – it’s always one or the other, not both)
Creating and maintaining all of the various spaces, websites, projects, etc under the Corvus Current umbrella is an expensive ordeal. Coven dues are a necessary way to help offset the cost of maintaining all of the spaces we utilize, providing you with materials, and organizing events.

Blood
We use blood literally and symbolically. We feed on blood or blood essence, we use blood in magick. We understand its power and we utilize it well. We also talk about our corvus witch blood. The lifeblood we invite when we initiate into the Corvus Current.
